Ohemgee Cattery Visitor Policy

We are a completely cageless cattery, which means our cattery is also our home. Because of this, we have made the decision not to allow tours of our home or personal living spaces. While we understand that families want to see where their kitten is raised, we believe it is reasonable to maintain a boundary between our private home and the cattery.

We are happy to offer video calls so you can see our kittens, their environment, and interact with us directly. This allows you to get to know us and see the kittens while still respecting the privacy and security of our home and family.

In 2024, we opened our home to 25-minute in-person visits for a period of time. Unfortunately, we have decided that we will no longer be allowing visitors to come to the cattery to view or choose kittens in person.

This decision was not made lightly. It came after an incident where someone who was scheduled to visit our kittens informed me that they were already on their way after stopping at a local animal shelter. Had I not been informed, I would unknowingly have allowed someone who had just been exposed to an outside animal environment into our home and around our kittens, potentially putting the entire cattery at risk.

Our priority will always be the health, safety, and well-being of our cats and kittens, as well as the safety and privacy of our family.

We have worked hard to establish a reputable cattery, and there are many ways prospective families can verify that we are a legitimate breeder. We are registered with TICA, can provide veterinary references that can be independently verified through Google, and have many families who can speak to their experience with us.

We understand that this policy may not be ideal for everyone, but we hope our families can understand and respect why this decision has been made. We are always happy to arrange a video call, answer questions, provide additional information, and help you feel comfortable and confident in choosing an Ohemgee kitten.

Our kittens' safety, our family's privacy, and maintaining a healthy environment will always come first.

Please note, photos are taken every 2-3 weeks as they grow.
